What is the larger of the two solutions?

2x(squared)-6x-8=0

+8 +8
2x(sq)-6x=8
-2x(sq) -2x(sq)
-6x=8-2x(sq)
---- ----
-6 -6
____________
x=-8/6-2x(sq)/-6

That's what I have so far, but then, I'm stuck. :confused:

Your method towards the solution is incorrect.

You need to use "quadratic solution".
