I can not figure it out...been trying to work it out the past hour but no luck....here it is:

A sample size 7 (n=7) has a mean of M=9. One of the sample scores is changed from X=19 to X=5. What is the value of the new sample mean???

Here is a strong hint.
The sum of the seven data points is 63.
You are reducing that sum by 14.
What is the new average?
 
Oh okay so you just figured 7 * 9 is 63....so that is how you got the sum! So the new mean would be 7 correct???
