The domain is what values go in and the range is what comes out.
i.e. \(\displaystyle \sqrt{x+1}\).
We can not have a negative in a radical, therefore, the values that work would be \(\displaystyle x\geq -1\)
The domain is everything but that. So, the domain would be \(\displaystyle [-1,{\infty})\)
