Somebody asked me this questions. I didnot give good answer. So please tell me.


Question: A Curve C is simple , and closed and that C encloses some region R. Suppose also that f(x, y) is defined on C and R . What is the differeence between integration on C f(x,y) ds and double integration on R f(x,y) dA.

I would be happy if someone explain me.

It is somewhat like the difference between the perimeter and the area of the circle. Onecan be expressed as derivative of the other.
