What are total sales?
You need somewhere to START. I recommend simply naming stuff. What does it want to know? Name that first.

S = Total Sales -- That just isn't hard, but it will help much more than it may seem.

What's the commission on S?

S * 6% = S * 0.06 = $150

Solve

S = $150/0.06 = ????

...and it is ALWAYS "commission amount" / "comission rate" ;
and p% = p/100 rate (6% = .06 rate)
