Hi,

I appreciate your time, and thankful for any help you can provide.

If I was returned $21,403 with a -36% roi, how much did I invest? What calculation is used to get accurate answer. Thanks,

Since you did not show any work, you must stuck at the begining.

To start off:

What is the definition of, according to your textbook/classnotes (may be Google), ROI?

After research, I understand roi, just confused on how to work it backwards. It's clear to me that $1000 investment with a gain of $250 would be a 25% roi. Just don't know how to get the number with above example.

Thanks

Are you saying you no longer need help on this problem? Other wise please answer Subhotosh Kahn's question.

Oh, I'm sorry,

It says to calculate, I need to to divide the return or "gain", by the original investment to get my roi percentage. I'm still "drawing blanks" . Thank you for your help and time.

Got it figured out, thx you all for your time. Have a great night.
