I am trying to calculate how far someone would free fall (w/o air resistance). The speed is up to 100+mph and the duration is 5 seconds. However, I was not given any speed or times between 0 and 100 mph. My immediate calculation led me to 733.33 feet in 5 seconds. I feel I should use a more in depth formula or attempt to find intervals between 0 and 100 mph/0 and 5 seconds to get a more exact number. A formula from my text that is standing out is: f'(x) dx = f(b) - f(a) maybe even s= Vot - (g/2)t^2. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

What was your "immediate calculation"?
