I'm really confused on this problem. All I really need is help getting started, because I'm really unsure on how to begin. Thanks.
The problem is here:

First find the expression for w2

Then find the expression for √(w2 - 4)

then express v = f(w)

and continue....

First find the expression for w2

Then find the expression for √(w2 - 4)

then express v = f(w)

and continue....

better yet...

w = \(\displaystyle e^{t\sqrt{gk}} + e^{-t\sqrt{gk}}\)

\(\displaystyle \frac{dw}{dt} \ = \ \sqrt{gk}\left (e^{t\sqrt{gk}} - e^{-t\sqrt{gk}}\right )\)

then

\(\displaystyle \frac{ds}{dt} \ = \ \frac{1}{k}\left (\dfrac{\left (\frac{dw}{dt}\right )}{w} \right )\)

\(\displaystyle \dfrac{\left (\frac{ds}{dt}\right )}{\left (\frac{dw}{dt}\right )} \ = \ \frac{1}{kw}\)

Now continue.......
