Business Math / Alg. Q: Stan receives 60% of the 6% commissi

I'm having trouble with a question that goes like this:

Stan is a real estate salesperson. He receives 60% of the 6% commission that the real estate agency charges on sales. If his income for the past year was $75,000, what was his dollar volume of sales for the year?

If anyone can help me with this question, I will greatly appreciate it.

He ends up receiving 60% of 6%. That would be (.06)(.60)=.036 or 3.6%

OK, 75000 is 3.6% of what?.
