i cant figure out how to do these damn limits...

limx->0 X^2 / 1 - cos4X

limx->0 sqr(1-X^2) - (1-(x^2/2)) / sin^4X[/i]

1) I would suggest rearranging to take advantage of that cosine limit they gave you:

. . . . .x2/(1 - cos(4x))

. . . . .(4x2)/(4(1 - cos(4x)))

. . . . .[(4x)/(1 - cos(4x))] [x/4]

2) I'm not seeing anything obvious with this one, but then, I'm also in the hurry at the moment. I'll try to get back to this in a bit, when I get back home, if nobody else has replied in the interim. Thank you for your patience.

3) Please refrain from cussing out the volunteers. Thank you for your consideration.

Eliz.

2) Do you mean the expression to be as follows?

. . . . .sqrt(1 - x2) - [(1 - x2/2) / sin4(x)]

If so, then I don't see that this has a limit as x approaches zero. And the graph shows it shooting off toward negative infinity. Sorry.

Eliz.
