I have been out of school for entirely too long to remember how to build this equation. I am trying to calculate the average discount given for our entire product line annual sales, that is sold over 4 distinct pricing levels. The data I have is as follows:
Baseline is a 0% discount, or a direct customer sale.
18.7% of annual sales is at 0% discount
5.4% of annual sales is at 25% discount
51.6% of annual sales is at 30% discount
24.3% of annual sales is at 35% discount
I am trying to calculate the average discount of all sales so that I can ensure our lowest discount is not negatively affecting net profits. I'd be excited to perform the calculations myself and learn where we're at, but I simply do not know how to create the equation to get the desired result.
Sincere thank you for any assistance any of you could offer me.
