I need help with math homework and here is the problem:

The lengths of the sides of a rectangle are 5 to the third power yards and 5 squared yards. Write the area of the rectangle as a power of 5.

I have already evaluated the powers.Adding all the sides together I come out with 300 but how do I write 300 to the power of 5?

What is the formula for the area (not perimeter) of a rectangle with width w and length L?

Thank you! :D

5 to the third power yards and 5 squared : show these like this: 5^3 and 5^2

Hint: a^x * a^y = a^(x+y)

oh ok. right so then writing the TRUE formula would make the area 6250 right? But how would you write that to a power of five.

They've given you expressions in terms of powers of five, and you have to find the product in terms of powers of five. You might want to try working with the powers of five and the exponent rules you've memorized, rather than multiplying everything out and then attempting to re-factor nearly to where you'd started.

You are not reading/thinking carefully - Read the answer given by Denis and think carefully....
