Find the area bounded by the graphs of the given functions:

1. y=x^2-3x and the x-axis

2. y=x^3; y=8; x=-1

3. y= -x^2 +4x +2; y= x+2

What have YOU done on the problems?
We need to see some work in order to know where yo need help.

I have no idea where to start on them. Do you set the problems equal to each other to solve them or do you just integrate each problem separately and then subtract them. My teacher is foreign and it's really hard to understand him, so I didn't understand this lesson at all. Thanks.

Graph each problem.
See what region is involved.
Then set up the integral

Here is the setup for #3

Please stop thinking that way. You got a little push and you claim to have understood. That MUST be substantially more than you admitted up front. A little hope goes a long way. :)
