AP Calculus AB vs Calculus?

Just wondering what exactly the difference would be between AP Calc AB and calculus since I’m sure they teach the same course (calculus 1). Thank you.

AP Calc AB is a watered down calculus course which is taught in high school. Calculus 1 is a rigorous (or at least should be) course taught in college. I think that it is ok to take AP Calc AB but then in college you should then take calculus 1.
