a friend said the answer is 16/3
How in the world did he get this?
 
Okay, I can see this one, now that I take a hard look at it. It's not the parser. Learn to communicate in the local language. Read a few dozen posts and see other's efforts to communcate clearly.

This one is a simple rational function. Numerator and denominator have the same degree. 4/(3/4) = 16/3. Done. It's an eyeball problem.
