Express the are and perimeter of an equilateral triangle as a function of the triangle's side length x.

So I found the perimeter formula.... P=3a. (a being the sides)
And the Area formula.... K=a^2(squareroot of 3/4)...

I don't really know what the question is asking i guess. :( I don't understand how to express it as a function of x..

f(x)=3x?? for perimeter?

Thanks in advance!

\(\displaystyle P(x) \ = \ 3x, \ that's \ easy.\)

\(\displaystyle Now \ A(x) \ = \ \frac{\sqrt3x^2}{4}, \ why?\)
