It says Find the value of y in the figure at the right?

would i take 3y+10=2y+20
would i combine them or start minusing
i'm going to start minusing
3y+10=2y+20
-10 -10
3y=2y
is this it how do i do it i'm confused would i divide this to get my answer?

It looks like you labled the left-side angle's measure as 3y + 10y.

Is this a mistake?

If the measure of this angle is supposed to be 3y + 10, instead, then your equation is a good start.

3y + 10 = 2y + 20

When we subtract 10 from the left-hand side, we get 3y.

When we subtract 10 from the right-hand side, we get 2y + 10.

(It looks to me like you got 20 minus 10 equals zero; that's wrong, of course.)

So, correcting your arithmetic mistake, we get the following equation after subtracting 10 from both sides.

3y = 2y + 10

Subtract 2y from both sides of this equation, and you'll get the value for y.

It's just supposed to be 3y +10 sry

3y=2y + 10
-2y-2y
y=10
