"You are standing 100meters from the main entrance of the Sears Tower. You estimate that the angle of elevatinto the top of the skyscraper is 77 degrees. What is the approxmate h height of the Sears Tower? Suppose one of your friends is at the top of the tower. What is the straight line distance d between you and your friend?"

My problem is I have no idea how to start either question. I understand what the angle of elevation is, but I do not understand how I am supposed to use that with the other information they have given us.

Thank you in advance.

Can you draw a sketch of the situation?

Draw a horizontal line for you "eye-level"

Draw a vertical line on it (the horizontal line) for Sears tower (length 100 m).

Plot your self (or your eye) on the horizontal line.

Now can you use the other given information - and answer (ask) some questions?

I understand it now! Thank you for suggesting I draw it out. It made it a lot easier to figure out. Thanks again. :)
