So solve for x using that equation first?As Romsek said x is NOT the measure of angle 1, rather 7x+4 is the measure of angle 1. If you know x then you can solve for 7x+4 !
Remember that the value for x will not be your final answer.So solve for x using that equation first?
Do you have any other viable strategy under contention?So solve for x using that equation first?
7x + 4 = 9x - 4Do you have any other viable strategy under contention?
Can you think of ANY OTHER WAY to proceed with this problem?View attachment 14979
I’m not sure if this is the angle bisector theorem.
7x + 4 = 9x - 4
Would I Solve for x to find the find the measure of angle <GDE?
9x - 7x = 4 + 4Continue!
And, as a check: 9(4) - 4 = 36 - 4 = 32.9x - 7x = 4 + 4
2x = 8
x = 2/8 = 4/1
<GDE = 7(4/1) + 4
= 28 + 4
= 32
