Please show us some of the ways you have tried - so that we may know where to begin to help you.

Hello, shamahoney!

I'm to use parenthesis in the right places to make the problem correct.

. . . \(\displaystyle 12-8 \times 2\,^2 + 24 \;=\;88\)

Hint

We have: .\(\displaystyle 12 - 8 \times 2\,^2 \;=\;64\)

Can you make the left side equal \(\displaystyle 8^2\) ?
