According to seattle Post Intelligencer, one third of the world's population is infected with tuberculosis. What are the odds that a randomly chosen person will be infected with TB?Please help.

Please provide:

1) A problem statement that makes sense.
2) A sampling of your efforts to solve the sensible problem statement.

algebra

Would this be:
Odds in favor of an event = probability event occurs / probability event does not occur

1/3 = .333
2/3 = .666
.333 / .666 =
33.3 / 66.6=
1/5
1 out of every 5th person

That is some very interesting arithmetic. Perhaps you should try again. The rest was good.

Still good to here: 33.3 / 66.6 = .500 = 1/2

Now you tell me what the answer is. Quit guessing.
