Question 2: (2 points)

The course credit hours and grades for Greg's fall semester are given below.

At his college the grade point value assigned for each grade is as follows:
A = 6 points, B = 4 points, C = 2 points, and D = 1 point:

Given the table below what is Greg's grade point average (GPA)?

CourseCreditsGrade
Communications
1
B
Accounting
2
C
Mathematics
2
A
Economics
2
C
Marketing
4
D
Computers
2
A
Total
13

Round your final answer properly to two decimal places, if applicable.

So confused, if I could get some assistance here that would be a true blessing.

Each course has a certain number of "credits". Multiply each course's credits by the number corresponding to the letter grade. Add up all the points. Divide by the number of credits. This gives you the "weighted" average. ;)

For example, the "B" in "Communications" is worth 4 points and it was a 1 hour course: 4(1)= 4.
The "C" in "Accounting" is worth 2 point but it was 2 hour course: 2(2)= 4.
The "A" in "Mathematics" is worth 6 point and it was a 2 hour course: 6(2)= 12.

After finding the "value" for each course, add them all together and divide by 13.
