Algebra Exam revision

I have a Summer Exam , at the begging of next week on all topics that we have done , so I decided to do Algebra , but I forgot have to do it , because it was a while ago, can anyone show me the method again please to memorize.

Do you know how to combine like terms? (4x and 3x, 5 and 6)
Do you know how to solve 5x=15?

Ok, do you know how to simplify the original equation, so it looks like 5x=15?

both I haven't clue how to do longer ones

How do you simplify 4x+5=3x+6 so it looks similar to 5x=15?

Is it 4x-3x=1x)=(5+6=11)
1x/1=11/1
x=11

4x-3x is correct.
5+6 is not, do you know why?
Also, when you are simplifying equations do each step on a new line instead of using "=".

Whatever you do to one side of an equation, you have to do to the other.
Think of an equation as a scale balance with 4x + 5 on one side and 3x + 6 on the other.
4x + 5 = 3x + 6
Take away 3x from each side:
1x + 5 =6
Now take away 5 from each side:
x = 1

Check your answer. Does 4*1 +5 = 3*1 +6?
