My son has Algebra 1 homework and I am attempting to help him with the problems but I do not even know what they are called to look up for assistance. The problem is -10k-6k or n+5+6-4n. We would like to help him but do not know where to start...HELP!!!! :D

You're asking us to guess; can you post the problems IN FULL?

As it is, -10k - 6k = -16k and n + 5 + 6 - 4n = 5 + 6 + n - 4n = 11 - 3n

One of the problems ilooks like this. His task is to solve the problems

-10k-6k

another one of the problems is listed like this in his homework.

n+5+6-4n.

Since the expressions had no instructions ("evaluate at" some given value of the variables, "simplify", "find the roots", etc), I'm afraid there is no way to advise. Sorry!

Please consult with the instructor regarding the missing information. Then please have the student reply (or dictate a reply) showing his work and reasoning so far, so the helpers can "see" where he is having difficulty.

Thank you! :D
