I'm learning about the properties of exponents in my class and I am somewhat confused by the homework problems that my teacher gave us. We have to simplify the problem and our answers should contain only postive exponents. One of the problems that confused me was this.

2yx-2 (2xy-1)-3

-2, -1, and -3 are the negative exponents.

first, who they have been affecting your exponents and x[sup:29lje3ku]-1[/sup:29lje3ku]= 1/x
