The sum of a man's age and his daughters age is 50 years. Eight years from now, the man will be twice as old as his daughter then.Find the present age of each.

I am so confused with these Age Problems D:

What would my let statement be?

I am so confused.

Let:
M = man's age
D = daughter's age

Can you figure out what the two equations will be?

Study the complete explanation and set-up you were given on your last "age" problem. Try to figure out the reasoning. :idea:

A big point of these word problems is for you to learn how to parse the English and convert it into math. To succeed, you really do need to learn how to set these up yourself. So if you're needing more instruction, please take the time to study some of the many great lessons (with worked examples!) available online. :wink:
