Thanks in advance for any help in this kind of tricky "Age Problem Equation" as follow: The combined ages of A and B are 48 years old, and A is twice as old as B was when A was half as old as B will be when B is three times as old as A was when A was three times as old as when B was then. How old is B?

I'm really stuck, Thanks Again

Okay, I'm sorry, but I can't even begin to follow that disaster of a second sentence to extract any meaningful information from it. Whoever wrote that sentence could easily deliver a symposium on how not to write a math problem. And we wonder why kids hate math so much... :-| Anyway, digressing from my mini-rant, my advice is to ask your instructor to clarify/dumb down that sentence a tad bit. Unless, of course, you happen to already know what it means, in which case please share that information.

What have you tried? On this forum we assist one in solving a problem rather than just doing the problem.

That's not your fault. It's a completely unreasonable problem. This problem shouldn't be given
out to any students for required/mandatory credit.

I'd like the instructor's name and contact information to tell him/her.

The adverb highlighted in red above does not seem to reference anything specific. That is, there does not seem to be any information to determine when then is.

"Then" is not a pronoun- it is an adverb.
