I know how to do problems similar to this one but it's not "advanced abstract equations"

I don't want the answer. I just want to know how to get to the answer please

It would help if there were a problem statement.

sorry trying to solve b. but if there is no b in the problem then im looking for a c. sorry cant see the pic i uploaded anymore o_O

you have: m / (a+c) + x/m = p

if you're solving for a+c, then:

m / (a+c) = p - x/m
m / (a+c) = (mp - x) / m

Finish it off with criss-cross multiplication, then isolating a+c.

the problem says I'm solving just for c so I don't know how i'm suppose to solve just for c.

when you say criss-cross do you mean like m x m and a+c multiplied by x?

and what do you mean isolating a+c? I looked it up but I don't understand it in math terms.

I'll give it a go though ^_^

I just need a little more info and I think i'll be able to solve it.

the problem says I'm solving just for c

m/(a + c) + x/m = p

m/(a + c) = p - x/m

m/(a + c) = (pm - x)/m

(a + c)/m = m/(pm - x)

a + c = m2/(pm - x)

c = m<sup>2</sup>/(pm - x) - a
