I'm not sure where to begin to solve this problem...

I need to know x as well as AC

AB=3x+6 BC=2x+14

post the WHOLE problem !

if I told you an apple costs 35 cents and a banana costs 30 cents,
could you tell me the price of an orange?

In the figure below EC bisects AD(line over) at C and EF(line over) Bisects AC(line over) at B. For each of the following find the value of x and the measure of the indicated segment

AB=3x+6, BC=2x+14;AC

Hello, bsg-pse!

I'll give you the "benefit of doubt" and assume there are more parts to this question.
Otherwise, it is one of the dumbest problems ever!

All that babbling and the only point is: \(\displaystyle B\) bisects \(\displaystyle \overline{AC}.\)
Code:
      A         B         C
      * - - - - * - - - - *
         3x + 6   2x + 14

If \(\displaystyle \overline{AB}\,=\,\overline{BC}\), then we have: \(\displaystyle \,3x\,+\,6\:=\:2x\,+\,14\;\;\)
Wow, that was hard!

Can you finish it now?

That's the whole question from the book...

Finish it please...

Thanks...:oops:

Please reply showing the progress you have made in solving the linear equation the tutor gave you.

Thank you.
