A solar energy collector needs several 3-in by 3-in square panels to cover an area 18 ft by 5 ft. How many square panels are needed.

Where are you stuck? You converted the total area from feet to inches, did the division, and... then what? Please be complete. Thank you! ;)

Im stuck at finding out how many panels are needed! Please read the question, THANK YOU :))
 
What was your purpose in posting this? stapel asked you several questions and you answered NONE of them.

If, as you appear to be saying, you have no idea at all how to even approach these problems, where did you get them? Obviously whoever gave you this problem expects that you at least know how to find the area of a rectangle. Do you NOT know how to do that? If so, whoever gave you this problem needs to know that so they can give you more instruction!

The last thing you want to do is "trick" your teacher into thinking you already know material that you don't!
