hey >>>

i want to Calculate this area Equation :

A= pi *(D^2*d^2)*p*n*k

n= 0.5
k=0.4

but the Valuable of ( D-d-p) given like this :

D:d:p
6 7 3

My question is :

i dont understand Valuable of ( D-d-p)

is it Number or proportion ... just can any one make it clear to me

Please, Please, Please,

Yes, the ":" symbols indicate it is a proportion. Both d and p can be expressed as fractions times D. You can then plug those fractions into the equation, and then A will be proportional to the 5th power of D. Since the proportion is not the same as saying D=6, and thus no explicit value is given for D, the best you can do is write A as a function of D.

[I assume you are using "*" to mean multiplication, which is our convention here. But it is a bit odd to have an "area" proportional to the 5th power of something - please be sure we understand the problem!]

hey DrPhil ..... u mean i make it like this :

D= 42d

p=21d

d=7d

and put it in A Equation .

That does not make sense!!

I would put those as follows:

D = 6/7 * d

and

p = 3/7 * d
