A simple Question ,inequality

3 < 3y < 11

Solution (1,11/3]

My question is if above given solution is right ? Because in solution manual, (1,11/3) is ans given

The solution manual is correct. If you plug 11/3 in for Y in the original inequality, you get

3(11/3) - 7 < 4
11 - 7 < 4
4 < 4, which is obviously incorrect.

Therefore, 11/3 is not part of the solution set.
