I just wanted to thank you guys for all your help these past few weeks. Report cards just came out, and I passed my Quantitative Reasoning class (it was a mandatory "pass/fail" deal). I couldn't have done this without the fine coaching of the folks here.
And I really enjoy this "Word Play' series! I haven't read all of them (perhaps now that the semester is over, I'll have a bit more time). I saw a nod to George Carlin (one of my favorite wordsmiths); was he the one who asked "Why do we park in a driveway and drive in a parkway?". And has anyone mentioned Steven Wright? He asks a clerk closing up a 7-11 store, "I thought you were open 24 hours?" "Not in a row!"
