I don’t understand how to solve the problem, I thought this was correct but it’s wrong. How would I go about solving this problem?

What is the total number of people who came to the market?

What percent of all these people bought both apples and lettuce?

You found percents of the total in each row, rather than of everyone.

So if 107 people went to the market, then to calculate the first cell I would do 14/107*100?
Then the next cell in that row would be 58/107*100
Then the next row’s first cell would be 8/107*100
Then the next cell would be 29/107*100
For the box that says total percentage, should I add up the percentage of the two cells in each row?

Yes.

Ok thank you! I’ve attached my completed problem.

Ok thank you! I’ve attached my completed problem.
None of those numbers are right.

Why did you change from what you said?
So if 107 people went to the market, then to calculate the first cell I would do 14/107*100?
Then the next cell in that row would be 58/107*100
Then the next row’s first cell would be 8/107*100
Then the next cell would be 29/107*100
And the numbers in the total column should SUM to 100%.

My math teacher said that the problem was unclear because you had to round the percentages and you had to calculate the relative frequency of each row. Thank you for your help though
