Trying to help my daughter with her math homework and feel kinda dumb i hope its a typing error on the problem lol please help! You have a calculator using the following figures one time only (and you have to use them all) find the sum of 19 1 4 5 7 + - = Thanks ahead for any help

Well, since sum of the 4 digits = 17, then you must use a 2digit number;
and since only a + sign and only a - sign must be used, then other 2 remain as digits:
best I can do is: 17 - 4 + 5 = 18
