3/4n + 16 = 2 - 1/8n (note: the "/" does NOT mean "divide"!)

please help i have tryed this a million times!

this does NOT me divide /

3/4n+16=2-1/8n

please help im so confused?

Is that \(\displaystyle \frac{3}{4}n+16=2-\frac{1}{8}n\)?.

Just group your terms. n's on one side and constants on the other.

Add \(\displaystyle \frac{1}{8}n\) to both sides and subtract 16 from both sides.

Then your n's will be on the left and your constants on the right. A cakewalk from there.

Another approach is to multiply both sides of the equation (every term) by 8, the lcd. Then you have an equation without fractions. A cake walk from there, also.
