The boss of your company invites you into his office. He tells you that he needs a certain task completed. You know that the last time he asked you for this task to be completed, it took 16 people 4 days to finish. If he says he needs the task to be completed in 3 days, how many people are you going to need? (Round up to the nearest person.)

If instead he says that you can only use 10 employees (which includes yourself), how long will it take to complete the task? (Round to the nearest hour.)

If it takes 16 people 4 days to do the job, then the number of "person days" it takes for the job is 16 * 4, or 64 person-days. (number of people * number of days to complete job = number of person-days required)

If the job does not change, it will ALWAYS take 64 person-days to do the job.

For example, if you have only 2 people to work on the job, how long will it take? We know this....

it takes 64 person-days to do the job.

So,

# of people * # of days = 64

Let x = number of days it takes
And we know 2 is the number of people. So,

2*x = 64

x = 32

If you have TWO people working on this job, it will take 32 days for them to complete it.

Now...apply this line of reasoning to your problem. If you're still having trouble with it, please repost, showing us ALL of the work you've done to try to solve it.
