If you have 102 for your 9 week average in a class and take the end of course Exam in that class with a grade of 82 on the Exam. The exam counts 25% of your final grade. How would you calculate the new class average average.

Without knowing the components which comprised the "nine-week average", I'm afraid it would be difficult to say for sure. Some grading programs are fairly ornate. But if you can assume that the non-Exam portion was the other seventy-five percent of the course, then the usual methods should suffice.

Since the final exam counts for 25% of your grade, I am going to assume that the other grade in question, i.e., the 9 weeks, counts for the remainder of your grade, i.e., 75%


Final Grade = (.75)(102) + (.25)(82) = 97
