The quarterly dividend on one share of stock is $0.62 per share.

Which is more logical or recommended and why?

1. $0.62/(share/quarter)

2. $0.62/(quarter/share)

Over 100 posts, and you don't follow the forum guidelines? :?

At this point, we're either being trolled, or else this particular user doesn't appear to be reading any of the responses they get. They have posted variations on the same "exercise" many times now. On September 26, 2017, KWF posted:

3. Which is more accurate to use $0.25/quarter/share = ($0.25 per quarter per share) or $0.25/share/quarter = ($0.25 per share per quarter)?

Ishuda responded:

For (3) neither is really more correct, they are the same thing mathematically. Some may prefer one or tuher [sic] but it makes no difference.

Does $35.95 per year per $1000 indicate which one of the following and why?

$35.95(year/$1000) or ($35.95/1 year)/$1000

JeffM responded:

They are equivalent.

On June 19, 2015, KWF posted:

How would $7,000 be multiplied by $35.69 per year per $1000 or by $35.69 per $1000 per year?

Are any of these correct?

($35.69/$1000)/1 year X $7,000
or
($35.69/1 year)/$1000 X $7,000
or
$35.69/($1000/1 year) X $7,000
or
$35.69/(1 year/$1000) X $7,000

Ishuda responded:

I would translate it as (1) &/or (2)
($35.69/$1000)/1 year X $7,000
or
($35.69/1 year)/$1000 X $7,000
since they are equivalent.

Emphasis mine, to indicate the relevant portions of these posts that indicate that neither one is "correct" but neither one is "wrong" either. Just pick whichever one you like better and use that!

… I apologize for the duplicate posting if this is what you are concerned about!
No -- my concern is that you showed no effort. This is a tutoring forum. The forum guidelines ask you to explain what you have tried or thought about, so far. If you are unable to think or do anything, then please indicate that, so that we may begin with the prerequisites. If there is anything that you do not understand about an exercise statement, then you need to say so. Once we see your efforts, we will have an idea regarding "where you're at" and we'll be in a good position to provide useful guidance.

Maybe this is another employee, asking us to do his job for him...? ;)

Comments Regarding Duplicate Questions

I had no intentions to create such a hullabaloo with my questions. I will not post and additional questions related to those seen here under this category. I was simply looking a better reply than those past replies.

Thanks for the comments, nevertheless!

Then say so, up front! (You don't really need to start a new thread, for that.)

If you could provide a reason as to why you find a previous reply unsatisfactory, we can certainly try to provide additional explanations or examples. What we can not do is read your mind.
