Post these this way, nurse: 4^(-2)

RULE: x^(-p) = 1 / x^p

So with yours: 1 / 4^2 = 1/16 ; kapish?

Put more simply, when you have something raised to a negative exponent, make it "one divided by" the number but make the exponent Positive.
