Mark must take at least 16 units of vitamin A 5 units of vitamin B and 20 units if vitamin C daily. Choose between pull #1 which contains 8 units of A, 1 unit of B and 2 units of C or pill # 2 which contains 2 units of A 1 unit of B and 7 units of C. Pill #1 costs 18 cents and pull #2 costs 30 cents. How many of each pull should he buy in order to minimize his cost. What is his minimum cost? How many of each pill should he buy?

You misunderstand the nature of this site. We give help: we seldom give answers.

If you have done some work, please show it so we can confirm that you are proceeding correctly or else identify your errors.

If you have got stuck part way through, please show us your work up to where you got stuck and tell us if you can what is holding you up.

If you don't know where to start, the FIRST step in any word problem always is to identify the relevant variables and assign a distinct letter to each one of them IN WRITING.

What are the relevant variables (in your opinion) and what letters do you want to assign to them?

So far I made a chart then got 8x+2y greater than or equal to 16. And x+y greater than or equal to 5 and 2x+ 7y greater than equal to 7 total cost = .18x+.30y. I don't know how to graph it and find corner points

They were supposed to have covered graphing linear equations way before assigning this sort of exercise! To learn how now, try here. (To graph these lines, you will deal with the equalities -- the corresponding linear equations -- and then shade one side or the other. You can see how to do that here.)

To find the corner points, you will need to go back to the corresponding equations, pick pairs of equations which represent pairs of lines that intersect, and solve the resulting system of equations for the intersection points. You can learn about that here.

To solve the exercise, you'll need to plug the corner points into the optimization equation, and pick the point that gives you the best result. For an illustrated explanation of the entire process, try here.

Please study at least two lessons on each topic with which you are having difficulty. Once you have learned the necessary background material, please attempt this exercise. If you get stuck, please reply listing your progress so far. Thank you! ;)
