Firstly thanks for that Denis, will be using it for many years to come.
secondly that video was awesome!
and thirdly can anyone help with this:
1.279x4 - 18.816x3 + 92.17x2-182.315x-114.797=0

Many Thanks

Go here: http://www.numberempire.com/equationsolver.php
and enter your equation like this:
1.279*x^4- 18.816*x^3+ 92.17*x^2 - 182.315*x - 114.797 = 0

Or go here (a bit "clearer"): http://www.1728.org/quartic.htm

Now, do you STILL want help ?

If so, go here: http://www.1728.org/quartic2.htm
Haven't you learned to use google yet ? ;)

Actually it is a pretty nasty equation!!

I used Newton_Raphson and got one "real" root. Other three roots were way out somewhere else - Newton refused to converge!!!.

The website suggested by Denis worked very fast - but gave very complicated-looking answers - all four of those.

WolframAlpha spun around for ~15 minutes without giving any answer - I gave up!!
